  Take Notice Of Where The Spore Patches Are Located On The Fertile Fronds , Of Prehistoric Platycerium Fern Quadridichotomum . This Species Would Produce More Spore Patches , But The Platycerium Fern Will Only Produce One Set Of Fertile Fronds Per Year , In Late Spring Or Early Summer . The Spores Will Become Ripe In Mid Fall , Just Before The Species Enters Into Its Dormancy Period .
